# Images and branding

> Logos, colours, fonts and photos: how to make the app look like yours.

A few small things make the difference between "a prototype" and "our app". All of them are quick.

## Add your logo and icon

Share your logo in the chat and ask for it to be used in the header and as the app icon. A square image of at least 512 pixels works best for icons, which appear in browser tabs, home-screen installs and shared links.

## Set a brand colour

One colour is enough. Ask for it by value or by description and the app uses it for buttons, links and highlights. If your brand has a detailed palette, describe the roles: "deep green for primary actions, warm sand for backgrounds, charcoal for text."

## Choose fonts

Ask for a typeface by name, such as "use DM Sans, like our website", and say where it should apply: headings only, or everything. If you have a licensed brand font file, mention it in the chat.

## Use real photos, not placeholders

Placeholder images make good layouts look unfinished. Share real photos, or ask the builder for photography in a particular style. Describe what each image shows so it gets useful alternative text for screen readers and search engines.

## Keep it consistent

The most common branding mistake is variety: three button styles, four shades of grey, headings all different sizes. Ask for one rule and apply it everywhere:

```
Use one button style for primary actions across the whole app.
Secondary actions get an outlined button. Nothing else is clickable-looking.
```

## Social previews

Before you share links publicly, ask for a title, a description and an image for link previews. Without them, a shared link shows a bare address in chat apps and social networks.
